Janetlee (Carabetta) Kipphut, 84, died suddenly on May 22, 2018 at Masonicare. She was the wife of the late Raymond Fred Kipphut, her beloved husband of 59 years.
Born in Meriden on June 7, 1933 she was the youngest daughter of the late Salvatore and Josephine (Dominello) Carabetta of San Giovani de Grace, Italy. She was predeceased by nine siblings and leaves one dear brother, George C. Carabetta. Janetlee was a lifelong resident of Meriden, graduated from Meriden High School, class of 1951, and was a parishioner of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church.
Janetlee was a loving and caring soul and excelled at making people happy. She was born into the family business, Carabetta Florist, where she worked and spent many years designing flowers and socializing with customers. She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan who enjoyed going to Fenway Park and following them on TV. Annual family summer vacations were spent on Cape Cod.
Mrs. Kipphut is survived by her three sons, Raymond F. Kipphut, Jr. and his wife, Laurie, of Middletown, Michael B. Kipphut and his wife Anna, of Kensington and Scott S. Kipphut and his wife, Lynn of Meriden. She also leaves her grandchildren, Matthew J. Kipphut and his wife Carol, Westley M. Kipphut, MD, Jessica N. Kipphut, Esq. and her fiancée Jimmy, Julia Lee Kipphut, Ginamarie A. Kipphut, Anthony D. Kipphut, Travis Landry and many nieces and nephews and their families.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be held on Friday, May 25, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Angels Parish, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Campus, 109 Goodwill Avenue, Meriden. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street, Meriden, Ct 06450 on Thursday, May 24th form 4 to 7 p.m
