Edward J. Schipritt, 93, of Wallingford, CT, husband of the late Caroline (Verdolini) Schipritt, passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at Midstate Medical Center after a brief illness. Born in Meriden, CT on October 31, 1924, he was the son of the late Francis and Martha (Finnance) Schipritt.
Edward graduated from Wilcox Tech, Class of 1942 and was employed by New Departure, retiring in 1998. Mr. Schipritt was a World War II veteran, having served with the US Army Company I 49th Armored Infantry Regiment as a staff sergeant. He was a parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in Meriden and a member of the New Departure and Bristol Fish and Game Clubs. Edward was an avid hunter, fisherman and skier who loved being outside.
Mr. Schipritt is survived by his two daughters, Marilyn (Schipritt) Haskedakes and her husband Douglas of Florida and Beverly (Schipritt) Tomasi and her husband Diego of Texas; his son, William and his wife Roxanne (Carr) of Meriden; his ten grandchildren, Robert and Steven Tempe, Rachel (Tempe) Crawley, Leigh (Ceuch) Ruwet, Nolan and Sonya Ceuch, Shannon (Perkins) St. Hilaire, Warren Perkins III, Matthew Haskedakes and Christine (Haskedakes) Scott; He is also survived by his ten great-grandchildren, Arianna, Laura and Robert Tempe III; Camryn, Charlotte, Gavin and Jackson Scott; Calista Haskedakes, Bryson Ruwet and Joseph St. Hilaire. He is also survived by his sister, Dolores Randall and numerous nieces, nephews and family members.
Besides his wife of 64 years, Mr. Schipritt was predeceased by his daughter, Kathleen Tempe and his great-grandson, Alexander Evan Scott; his three sisters, Mae Sehl, Rita Flanigan and Gertrude Skwara; and his four brothers, Frank, George, Robert and Raymond Schipritt.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be held on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Angels Parish, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Campus. Everyone is asked to meet directly at church. Burial with military honors will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the John J.
