Maria E. Rivera, 65, wife of the late Ruben Rivera, died on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at her home due to natural causes. Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico on August 13, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Eulalia Alvarez and Salvador Bultron. She had resided in Puerto Rico until the age of 13 then her family moved to Brooklyn, NY.

Mrs. Rivera was a stay at home mom. She was the mother of nine children, who loved her Spanish music, dancing and was an amazing cook. She loved getting the family together for dinners. She absolutely adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her faith was strong and occasionally enjoyed her bingo, facebook and games on her phone.

She is survived by five daughters; Maritza Rivera, Yesenia I. Rivera, Dinah A. Rivera-Minor and her husband Joe-Nathan Minor, Lydia Bultron and Annette Bultron, three sons; Ruben F. Rivera, Ulises A. Rivera and Peter L. Rivera and his wife Sarah Rivera, sixteen grandchildren; Ruben, Peter, Nathaniel, Yeritssa, John, Alissa, Jonathan, Mel, Yesenia, Donovan, Manuel, Dinasia, Deiana, Ja’lana, Sariah and Joe-Nathan and nine great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters, Marta E. Solano and Norma Bultron, a brother, Rafael Solano and several nieces, nephews and friends. She loved so hard friends became family. She was predeceased by her son John L. Rivera, six brothers and two grandsons, Vincent Carmona and Sonny Amare.
