Rick J. Benoit, 69, husband of Gerri (Carbone) Benoit died on Tuesday, February 13, 2018 at the Hospital of Central Connecticut, New Britain Campus-Critical Care Unit after a brief illness. Born in Meriden on October 18, 1948, he was the son of Edith Benoit and the late Henry Benoit. He had been a lifelong resident of Meriden and had attended Wilcox Tech. Mr. Benoit was employed by Pratt & Whitney, retiring in 2014. He was a member of the North Italian Club. Rick enjoyed working in his carpentry workshop making gifts for his family and friends and especially enjoyed spending time with his loving family.

Besides his wife he is survived by his two daughters, Carrie Smith and her husband Tom (Southington) and Christie Shields and her husband Steve (Bristol); his two grandchildren, Rebecca Smith and Kyle Shields; his sister, Christine Michalowski and her husband Bruce (West Palm Beach); his brother, Tom Benoit and his wife Roseanna (Tennessee). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and by his fur baby Hobbs.

Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service to be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 10 a.m. at the John J. Ferry & Son Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., Meriden, CT 06450 with Pastor Ric Hanse officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Friday, February 16, 2018 from 4 to 7 p.m. The family would like to thank the staff at the Hospital of Central Connecticut, New Britain Campus-Critical Care Unit.
