Francis J. Freeman, 97, died on Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Westfield – Apple Rehab. Born in Meriden on April 10, 1920, he was the son of the late William and Sarah (Murphy) Freeman. He was a lifelong Meriden resident. Mr. Freeman retired from American Cyanamid Company with over thirty years of service. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the U.S. Army. He was a member of the I.C.W.U. and an avid New York Yankees fan.
He is survived by his son and best friend, James F. Freeman; his granddaughter, Nicole Freeman; two great-grandchildren, Kayla Freeman and William Wallen and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by the love of his life, Mary E. Freeman, three brothers and one sister.
Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service to be held on Monday, December 18, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street, Meriden. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, December 17th from 2 to 5 p.m. His family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at Westfield – Apple Rehab for the loving care given to Francis.
