It is with heartfelt sadness that we inform everyone that George James Scarano, 81, beloved husband of Jeanine Scarano, passed away in Wallingford on Tuesday, September 12th, 2017. He was born on March 3rd, 1936, in Meriden, Connecticut. He was the son of the late James George Scarano and the late Rose Marie (Campochiaro) Scarano.
George was long retired from his ventures at Form-All Plastics, where he built a thriving business. Mr. Scarano was a veteran of the Korean War, having served with the United States Army. Up until his recent illness, he spent his time playing golf, riding his motorcycle, hanging with the gas station crew, doing various home improvement projects for family, and dabbling in used car sales.
George is survived by his son, Jay Scarano and his wife Rina of Nashua, NH; his daughter, Karen Bell and her husband Brian of Walpole, MA; his daughter, Lynne Scarano-Witowski of Rocky Hill, CT and his five grandchildren, Dominic, Matthew, Kristen, Jeanine, and Christopher. In addition to his parents, George was predeceased by his sister, Patricia Mongillo.
Family and friends are welcome to attend calling hours on Friday, September 15th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street in Meriden. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 16th at Notre Dame Church, 272 Main Street in Durham. Everyone is asked to meet directly at church. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in George's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital located at 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
