Janine Aragi, 55, of Higganum, CT passed away suddenly on July 3, 2017 in Jamaica while visiting friends. She was born in Bridgeport, CT on November 21, 1961 to the late Teresa (Stevens) Aragi and John T. Aragi Sr.
Janine was a Mental Health Assistant for Connecticut Valley Hospital, retiring in 2014 after fifteen years of service, and was previously employed by Gaylord Hospital. She had degrees in Psychology and Middle Eastern Studies and spent a semester in Cyprus. During her retirement Janine spent most of her time visiting family, friends and traveling.
She is survived by her twin, John T. Aragi, and his wife Pamela of Holden, MA; Ward Aragi of Newfane VT; her brother Steven O'Brien of Bristol, CT; and her sister Shirley Turner of Jacksonville, FL.
Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Friday, July 14, 2017 at 12 p.m. at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main St., Meriden, CT 06450. Burial will be private. Friends may call prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Please no lilies due to allergies.
