Obituary for Gloria Dallesander (Montefiore)

Gloria Dallesander, 87, wife of the late Frank Dallesander, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 18, 2016. Born in Meriden on May 7, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Domenic and Fannie (Tedesco) Montefiore. Gloria lived in Meriden for over fifty years before moving to Southington for the last twenty. She was a graduate of Meriden H.S., Class of 1947. Gloria was a bookkeeper for several local companies, including Claremont Roofing Company before her retirement. She was devoted to her husband, Frank and was a loving daughter, sister and aunt. Gloria was very generous and caring to everyone and was an avid shopper.
She is survived by one sister, Joann Costello of Southington; one brother, William Montefiore and his wife Florence of Meriden; three nieces, Denise Kupstis and Jodi Dufresne, both of Southington and Dana Knickerbocker of Wallingford; one nephew, David Montefiore of Wallingford and many great nieces and great nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Montefiore.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 11 am at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 East Main Street, Meriden. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday morning prior to the service from 10 to 11 am. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Gloria’s family wishes to express their sincerest gratitude to the staff at The Village of Kensington Place in Meriden for the attention and loving care she received while she was a resident. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to a charity of ones choice.
